Service Description: <span style='font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;'>The Washington State Department of Ecology’s
Air Quality Program issues a five-day forecast from May through October, when
wildfire smoke is of concern, and a two-day forecast for the rest of the year.
The forecast zones are smaller in the cold months because smoke impacts are
more localized. The smoke forecast is based on forecasts issued by local clean
air agencies and Ecology staff, forecasts produced by the Idaho Department of
Environmental Quality Machine Learning model, and forecasts produced by the
Ecology ensemble HYSPLIT model. The forecast is updated hourly in the mornings
(before noon). The smoke forecast can be used to plan outdoor activities and
reduce exposure to air pollution.</span>
